The Hearing Examiner has extended the comment period for Montevallo/Wood Trails. The last public comments will be heard this Thursday, April 5th, at 7PM at the Carrol Edwards Gym (not City Hall). Written comments are being accepted if you prefer not to speak or are unable to attend, please address them directly to the Hearing Examiner, c/o City Hall.
Comments are being taken for both proposals. If you haven’t spoken and you wish to do so…sign up early! The quantity and quality of comments has been outstanding—you don’t need to be an expert to have credibility. Be prepared to speak for 3-5 minutes … make your best points first. If you don’t know what to say but are mad, then read through this website for topics or contact someone in CNW, we will be happy to give you lots of info regarding whichever item is your sensitive spot—traffic, noise, wind, animals, landslides, you name it!
The more faces and opinions the better—bring your friends, family, and neighbors. While it’s good to have experienced and qualified speakers, your speaking ability is not what’s important, your heartfelt sentiment is. The impact is not as great if the same people are speaking up each time. This isn’t just about the Hearing Examiner, this is also about your neighbors seeing you and hearing shared concerns.
The Hearing Examiner will not only assess the proposed developments but will evaluate re-zoning of the entire R-1 area of Woodinville….this could be the foot in the door for everyone, not just Wellington. This is your chance to be part of the community voice, please take it. The developer has not delivered consistent, detailed concepts for the developments; he will not commit and is being allowed to change drawings, even throughout the hearing…will he get more accountable after construction starts?
Please write a check to pay for attorney fees and copying…much research is being conducted for free by neighbors and friends, but to navigate the legal system takes sage advice…we have that, but we must pay for it. Be generous—consider what your neighborhood’s quality is worth to you.
