The City's legal process during the Closed Record Hearing for Wood Trails and Montevallo appears unclear at this time. At the July 9th City Council meeting, even respectful requests for clarification were quickly denied. Citizens were not commenting on the projects, merely asking about the process.
As of now the public will not have the opportunity to present comments in front of our elected officials. For the past three years the City Council members have been prevented from seeing or hearing any information on these projects. We were told we would have our day, yet no opportunity currently exists for the public to speak in front of the City Council except via a 20-minute testimony from our attorney, Mr. Rick Arambaru.
In the video the City Council admits to being confused about the process at this point. The attorney for the City of Woodinville is being very conservative. He feels any public discussion including procedural, indeed any mention of the names Wood Trails and Montevallo, during City Council meetings will be prejudicial and has advised against it.

If you object to being unable to speak publicly in front of your council on the Wood Trails/Montevallo issue, below is a template you can use to let City Manager Richard Leahy know. Show up at the August 6th hearing to make a silent witness to our concern for our neighborhood. Register to vote and vote thoughtfully in the primary and general elections.

Richard Leahy, City Manager (RichardL@ci.woodinville.wa.us)
Woodinville City Hall
17301-133rd Ave NE
Woodinville, WA 98072
Dear Mr. Leahy,
I am a party of record in the Wood Trails and Montevallo development applications. I have learned that your City Attorney, Zach Lell, is denying me my right to present my evidence before City Council in the upcoming closed record history. I understand that his decision is contrary to both City of Woodinville and State of Washington standard practices. Further, multiple City employees previously told me I would have the opportunity to present my evidence to the City Council. I vehemently object to Mr. Lell denying me my standard and ordinary rights and I strongly recommend you allow me to present evidence that is on the record.
Sincerely,
